HMS Ark Royal

The Ark Royal (1981) 14x6” Meranti snare drum, stave built from the flight deck. Built on the River Tyne, she was launched by the Queen Mother in 1981 and was the fifth ship to have name “Ark Royal”. With a crew compliment of over 1000, she carried Harrier Jump Jets and various helicopters. She saw active service in the Bosnian and Iraq wars and was decommissioned in 2011.
