SS Pegu

SS Pegu was on its way to Liverpool in 1917 when it was torpedoed by German U-Boat U57 off the coast of Ireland. Its cargo of Burmese teak was destined for the front lines in France, but remained on the sea bed until 2011 when it was salvaged, originally to be used for the Cutty Sark restoration. Two drums were made from the teak.
